Markus Krötzsch Receives Teaching Award 2024 From the Student Council Computer Science
The Student Council Computer Science (iFSR) of TU Dresden has awarded Markus Krötzsch the 2024 Teaching Prize for his outstanding lectures “Formal Systems” (winter semester 2023/2024) and “Theoretical Computer Science and Logic” (summer semester 2024). This prestigious prize is awarded annually to teaching staff who demonstrate exceptional teaching skills, commitment to their profession and a positive influence on their students.
Every year during Output.DD, the iFSR awards the teaching prize for the best teacher or event. In addition to excellent research, the university is characterised above all by excellent teaching. Students can vote on who receives the award.
This is the second time that Markus Krötzsch has received the iFSR Teaching Award. He received his first award in 2021 when he won the Digital Teaching Award for his lecture “Theoretical Computer Science and Logic”. The award recognises Markus' commitment to creating an encouraging and inspiring learning environment. In over ten years at the Faculty of Computer Science at TU Dresden, Markus has taught a variety of courses, including “Theoretical Computer Science and Logic”, “Formal Systems”, “Database Theory”, “Knowledge Graphs” and “Complexity Theory”. Through his excellent teaching, Markus has left a lasting impression on both students and colleagues.
“It is a great honour to receive this teaching award for the second time,” said Markus. “I am deeply grateful to my colleagues, my research group and the enthusiasm of my students, who inspire me every day to strive for excellence in teaching.”
