New SECAI Scholarship Holders Start Their AI Studies in Dresden and Leipzig

On November 6th, SECAI welcomed the School's new scholarship holders to the ASCII student café in the Faculty of Computer Science at TU Dresden for an initial get-together and exchange. From almost 130 applicants, 28 scholarship holders were selected for this cohort, and since October have been studying at TU Dresden and Leipzig University with the support of a SECAI scholarship.

The scholarship program supports outstanding students during their AI studies in Dresden and Leipzig. The courses of study supported by SECAI reflect the interdisciplinarity in the field of AI that characterizes SECAI: in courses ranging from Nanoelectronic Systems to Logical Modeling and Simulations and Bioinformatics to Master of Law, the scholarship holders learn about the many facets of AI in order to help shape the future of these fields as young talents. Even the scholarship holders are characterized by their diversity: this year, 12 female and 16 male scholarship holders from four continents have started their studies (13x Europe; 10x Asia: 4x Africa; 1x America).

In addition to scholarships for students at TU Dresden and Leipzig University, SECAI also supports research and industry stays, both for international students coming to Dresden and Leipzig and for local students who want to gain international experience. With its broad network in science and industry, SECAI can provide targeted support to students who are interested and offer both financial and non-material support on their career path. The application deadlines for the two rounds of scholarships starting in 2025 are May 19th and June 30th, 2025.
